Why we do it

During a visit to Ambhu, a village in Maharashtra, India, founder Ayaana Vinayak was torn to see young children without access to basic resources such as electricity and clean water. She returned home inspired to help. She began teaching basketball to younger children, turning a sport she loved into a way to raise money to give back.

Seeing the potential to accomplish more together, Ayaana invited friends to share their own talents through coaching and tutoring, building the first chapter in New Jersey in 2024. Their shared enthusiasm encouraged her to reach out to friends in other regions, who brought the initiative to their communities. Each new chapter created opportunities for more students to learn, connect, and give back.

Today, Coaching for Good operates six chapters across New Jersey, New York, Canada, California, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic. More than 20 coaches have served over 400 students through 3,300+ sports, enrichment, and tutoring sessions. All classes are free, and 100% of donations go to nonprofits, with each chapter supporting a cause of its choosing.
